Expressing feelings in our mother tongue can be tough, let alone a foreign language. We can only try, am I right? The first step is knowing the words to do so. The image below intends to help you learn this vocabulary instinctively, but in case you have unsolved questions regarding the meanings, scroll down a bit and you'll find the translation to each of them. Also, note that many of the words have a similarity to English or other languages. If you use mnemonics and link these ideas, it will be easy for you to memorize them.
Feliz - It means happy. It's the same word in Spanish and quite similar to Italian (felice).
Triste - Sad in English. It's the exact same word in Italian, Spanish, and French, though with a different pronunciation.
Com sono - Sleepy! Assonato in Italian and con sueño in Spanish.
Com sede - Thirsty. Assetato in Italian.
Com frio - Cold. Frío in Spanish, freddo in Italian, and froid in French.
Impaciente - Exactly what it sounds like - impatient!
Confuso - Exactly what it sounds like (again!) - confused.
Com medo - Scared! Like "miedo" in Spanish.
Com fome - Hungry! Similar to affamato in Italian and faim in French.
Doente - It means sick. It's not that close to the words in Italian, French or Spanish.
Animado - Excited. Attention: Excitado is a false cognate, it sounds similar, but it means horny.
Apaixonado - It means in love. You can associate it to "passion" or "passionate".
Bravo - Angry. Another way to say it is com raiva, which sounds like "arrabiato" in Italian.
Curioso -What it sounds like - curious.
Entediado - It means bored. You can associate it to "tedious".
Chocado - What it sounds like - shocked.
